Love Your Library Landscape
Become an integral part of the Library by volunteering. The Friends of the Farmville Public Library are starting a Landscape Volunteer Group to commit to participating in a regular monthly schedule to help in the maintenance needs of the library landscape.
Join Cyndi Lauderdale, Wilson County Extension Horticulture Agent and President of the Friends of the Library, on Saturday, May 7 at 9 am at the library tables near the Church Street entrance. By volunteering alongside others, you'll develop a great deal of knowledge, ownership, and pride about your Library. Tasks include: deadheading flowers, weeding, pruning, and raking. Suggested items to bring are a hat, gloves, pruners, and a weeding tool.
To become a Library Landscape Volunteer:
* Attend a Volunteer Day to get started.
* Have a strong interest in gardening, community and the Library.
* Be willing to commit once a month for 1-2 hours.
* Be able to bend, lift, and kneel.
